09/2/07 1:30 PM EDT-- 2007 Vineyard Race Wrap UP- Congratulations to Blue Yankee, Tenacity III and Quest for taking top honors in this year's running of the Vineyard Race, sponsored by the Stamford Yacht Club and Fiduciary Trust International. You can check out the 'tracks' of these and all the boats on the FIS Tracking Services Vineyard race tracking page. The final boat finished off Stamford Harbor at 6:41 AM EDT today and preliminary results have just been posted on Results Page found on the Stamford Yacht Club website

09/1/07 3:10 PM EDT-- SPECIAL RACE UPDATE - -- Rima2 lost a shroud fitting and took the boat to Portmouth. As always stay tuned for race updates as they become available.

09/1/07 3:00 PM EDT-- RACE UPDATE - -- The weather has changed and any boats not already well into the sound by now face a full 4kn current on the nose. Boats still rounding Block Island have slowed to a 2kn crawl as wind has died and the race will probably slow with the tide going out for the next 4 to 5 hours. Stay tuned updates as they become available.

09/1/07 9:30 AM EDT-- RACE UPDATE - -- Overnight conditions were excellent with winds up to 16 knots from the north and it looks as if it could be a record race! As of 0830 EDT four boats have already finished the Cornfield Point race with all seven boats expected to be in by noon. The four Cornfield Pont boats that have finished: Music, Fin II, Quest and Wave Dancer. In the longer Vineyard Race, Blue Yankee rounded the Buzzards Bay tower shortly before 0300 EDT and headed west through the Gut at 0730. Rima2 was second to round. Stay tuned for picture and updates as they become available.

08/31/07 1:30 PM EDT-- WEATHER UPDATE!! Long Island Waters - -- For the race weekend there is an expected weak cold front that will move slowly southeast across the coastal waters this afternoon. An area of low pressure southeast of the waters track to the east. High pressure will build in from the Great Lakes tonight through Saturday night...then move offshore Sunday night. The high moves south Monday as another cold front approaches from the northwest. Stay tuned for picture and updates as they become available.
